  • Immersing the product or its electrical components in water, other than where the instructions expressly permit it
  • Operating the product at an incorrect voltage, or with a non-approved power adaptor or extension lead
  • Obstructing air intakes, vents or exhausts, or operating the product in a confined or unventilated space
  • Operating the product outdoors or in a wet area unless the product is rated for that use

Failure to follow cleaning, descaling or maintenance instructions.

8. Electrical Components, Motors and Cooling Systems

Products supplied by ButlerMe contain electric motors, control boards and, in some products, compressors and sealed cooling systems.

These products are designed for domestic use at the duty cycle described in the product instructions. Continuous operation beyond the recommended run time may shorten the life of the motor or compressor and is not covered under warranty.

Products must be connected to a suitable power outlet at the stated voltage, must not be used with a damaged cord, plug or adaptor, and must be switched off and disconnected from power before cleaning, filling, emptying or servicing.

Products containing a sealed cooling system must be transported and stored upright, and must be allowed to stand upright for the period stated in the instructions before being switched on after transport.

Damage caused by power surges, use with a non-approved adaptor, or operating a cooling product on its side is not covered under warranty.

9. Water, Tanks and Food Contact

Products that hold, collect or discharge water must be filled, emptied and cleaned as described in the product instructions.

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • damage caused by overfilling, or by allowing a tank to overflow
  • damage caused by leaving water standing in a tank or chamber between uses
  • scale build up caused by failure to descale the product as instructed
  • damage caused by freezing of water left inside a product

Appliances that come into contact with food or drink must be cleaned, and where applicable sanitised, in accordance with the instructions before first use and between uses.

Staining, odour and discolouration of food contact surfaces caused by ingredients, syrups or cleaning products are normal and are not considered defects.

10. Consumables, Filters and Maintenance

Filters, brushes, mop pads, seals, gaskets, blades, augers and paddles are consumable items that wear with use and require periodic cleaning and replacement.

The following are normal characteristics of use and are not considered defects:

  • gradual wear of brushes, pads, blades and seals
  • reduction in suction, airflow or extraction rate caused by a filter that requires cleaning or replacement
  • reduction in battery run time over the life of the product

Regular cleaning, descaling and replacement of consumables as described in the product instructions is a condition of the warranty on the motor, compressor and electrical components.

Damage caused by failure to clean or maintain the product is not covered under warranty.

11. Accidental Damage

The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents including:

  • dropping the product
  • impact damage
  • structural damage caused by collisions
  • improper transportation

12. Modifications and Unauthorised Repairs

This warranty does not apply where the product has been:

  • modified
  • altered
  • repaired by a person not authorised by ButlerMe
  • fitted with non-approved parts

Unauthorised modification of electrical components may create safety risks and will void the warranty.

13. Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim customers must provide:

  • proof of purchase
  • order number
  • description of the issue
  • photographs or video where relevant

ButlerMe may request that the product be returned for inspection before determining whether the warranty applies.

14. Return and Inspection

Where a product must be returned for inspection, customers must contact ButlerMe before sending the product.

Products must be emptied of water, cleaned and dried before being returned, and products containing rechargeable batteries must be packaged in accordance with transport safety requirements.

15. Limitation of Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ButlerMe’s liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies set out in this policy.

Nothing in this policy limits rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
